What thickness of mat do I need? 1in to 2in agility mats are for floor work, rolls and general PE. 4in to 8in mats suit low-level landings and vaulting. 12in crash mats are used where an athlete lands from height, such as high jump, bar dismounts and advanced vault.

What is chipfoam and why does it have a latex base? Chipfoam is recycled foam compressed to a high density, giving excellent energy absorption for landings. The latex base stops the mat sliding across a polished hall floor on impact.

Is tatami matting only for martial arts? Tatami jigsaw matting is designed for grappling and judo, but the interlocking format also makes it a practical permanent floor for a home gym or club MMA area.
